You Attract What You Think About

Have you ever noticed how the more you think about something, the more that thing becomes your focus? This is basically the law of attraction and in a nutshell, it says that you attract what you think about. Your thoughts are far more powerful than most people realize. They have the ability to completely change your experiences, your mood, your mindset and even your health. Considering we alone are in control of our thoughts, it’s important that we protect them and use them wisely. Use them to uplift yourself and raise your vibration rather than allowing them to bring you down.

I have unpleasant situations that happen in my life just as everyone else does. I’m no different in that regard. I am different in how I respond or react to those situations though. I choose to be happy and at peace, generally speaking. So, I always look for the positive in everything I experience, or at least, the brighter side of things, even if it’s a traumatic event. And yes, I’ve definitely had those also. Sometimes it’s difficult to see the positive in something when I’m in the thick of it so that mindset comes a little later. Eventually though, it does come and it significantly changes my perspective about what I was going through. It doesn’t mean I like it any more but I have a higher perspective on it and I can approach it with greater peace and acceptance.

What we focus on determines our mindset. When I focus on what I do have in my life, my life feels happy, peaceful and abundant. It feels fulfilled and full of love and joy. Comparatively, when I focus on what I don’t have, I go down this spiral of lacking and negativity. The longer the mindset continues, the more lack or negativity I feel. Fortunately though, this is an easy thing to fix. Try going a week or two and consciously correcting your thoughts. Every time you think something negative, change your thought to something positive, kind or compassionate about the situation. I’ll bet you find you feel happier and more positive about life in general. Remember, we have the ability to choose what we think about and we can choose to only think about things that are positive and uplifting. It doesn’t mean we bury our head in the sand and pretend things aren’t how they are, but rather we choose to be positive in spite of those circumstances. How we think about something determines how we feel about it. Choose to think positively and you will attract more positivity into your life because you attract what you think about.
