Living in Partnership with The Earth

As inhabitants of this planet, it’s important we are living in partnership with the Earth, each doing our own part to sustain a healthy life. Not just a healthy life for humanity but for the planet as well, and all the other plants, animals and organisms that call this home. We all co-exist here together but the planet can’t sustain life long term if we continue to ignore it’s health. I would venture to say many people don’t give much thought to the Earth as being it’s own entity. We go about daily life not necessarily even thinking about how our actions are affecting the planet itself, not to mention the other inhabitants that live here. The reality is that our actions have a huge impact on the planet’s health. We’re mere stewards of this planet and I would say most of us have not taken that job very seriously.

Many people live their lives with complete disregard for the impact they are having on the Earth. They overlook the fact that this very planet we live on actually sustains our lives and the lives of every other living thing we encounter. Everything from discontinuing chemical use to recycling everything we can to using re-usable bags and containers can make a significant difference if more people committed to them. There are certainly other very significant factors that affect the planet’s health but I’m focusing more on day to day life in this post. This planet should not be something we take for granted or abuse in the multitude of ways we do. Living in partnership with the Earth should be our priority. Having a conscious awareness of how our actions affect the Earth and having Earth-friendly practices are some of the best changes we can make.

For me, living in partnership with the Earth is part of living authentically. I absolutely love being out in nature and hearing nature’s sounds. If the planet’s health continues to decline, I won’t have the opportunity to do those things. I’ll miss out on the joy and happiness they bring me as well as the grounding I get when I’m out there. I fully admit that my daily practices have significant room for improvement in looking at the footprint I’m leaving behind. That being said, I am consciously aware of this and continuously looking for ways to improve my practices. I have made drastic changes in the things I do and how I do them because of my concern for the planet. I would love to hear the eco-friendly practices you all have so please leave a comment and share with the group.

This planet is our home; it’s where we live and we should want to take care of it. We should want to have healthy practices that nourish its energy and vibrance for generations to come.
